Balázs worked with the lab on the development of the rpostgisLT package. During two intensive Google Summer of Code projects (2016, 2017) he developed the package with Mathieu Basille, David Bucklin and Clément Calenge.

As an R&D Engineer at the 3D geoinformation research group of the Delft University of Technology, he developed tools and work-flows for 3D geodata management and analysis. Most of his was spent on the 3D buildings data set of the Netherlands, a standardized 3D data set for noise simulations, and a data format (and related software) for storing semantic 3D city models. Apart of the engineering work, he mentored several Master’s Thesis graduates and assisted in teaching introductory GIS.

As a co-founder of a commercial spin-off from the 3D geoinformation research group, called 3DGI, Balázs now works on custom software solutions, research and development in the field of 3D geoinformation.

Currently living in the Netherlands, he lived and worked in Serbia, Hungary, Germany and Switzerland, while studying and practising as a Landscape Architect. He holds MSc degrees in Geomatics Engineering and in Landscape Architecture.
